Hand carved, hand painted and completely one of a kind.
This handmade leather eyeglass case combines traditional Western leatherwork with a little unexpected color. The front features a large hand-carved floral and scroll design, highlighted by a hand-painted purple flower against warm brown leather.
The artwork doesn't stop on the front. The entire back is covered in a deeply textured hand-stamped geometric pattern, creating detail from every angle. Dark antiquing settles into the impressions and carved lines, emphasizing the depth of the tooling and giving the leather a rich, dimensional finish.
The case is constructed from genuine vegetable-tanned cowhide and machine stitched with black thread, with dark finished edges completing the piece. My Cherokee Rose Custom Leather maker's mark is stamped on the back.
This is not a printed or embossed design. The carving and decorative stamping were created by hand, one impression and cut at a time in my East Texas leather shop.
