Each cover is handcrafted in my East Texas workshop from soft, flexible oil tanned leather and finished with a coordinating leather interior. Unlike stiffer traditional vegetable-tanned leather, oil tanned leather has a comfortable, broken-in feel from the beginning and will continue developing character and patina the more it's handled and carried.
Each cover also comes with a Field Notes memo book, so it's ready to use—or give as a gift—right out of the package.

Because these are made from full-grain leather hides, natural markings, grain variation and subtle differences in color are expected. They're not flaws—they're part of the character of the leather.

Made to Be Used
Oil tanned leather is infused with oils during the tanning process, creating a soft, flexible leather that doesn't require the lengthy break-in period associated with some traditional leather goods.
Everyday handling will add marks, variations and patina over time, meaning your cover won't simply get older—it will develop a look that's uniquely yours.
When you've filled the included Field Notes book, simply replace it with another standard-size memo book and keep using the leather cover for years to come.
