Simple, functional, and made to develop character with everyday use, these handmade oil tanned leather checkbook covers are crafted from full-grain leather with a naturally soft, broken-in feel.
Each cover is handmade in my East Texas workshop with a coordinating oil tanned leather interior and two pockets designed to hold a standard checkbook, register and other papers.
Rather than covering the leather with tooling or decoration, these covers let the natural grain, markings and color variations of the hide become the design.
Choose Your Cover
Deep Cherry Red
Rich deep cherry-red oil tanned leather with a matching interior. The interior pocket edges are carefully shaped, finished and burnished for a clean, polished look.
Redwood — Live Edge Interior
Matte redwood oil tanned leather with beautiful darker color variation and a matching interior. This particular cover features the natural live edge of the leather hide along the interior pockets, preserving the organic shape of the hide and making this piece completely unique.
Rustic Brown
Matte rustic-brown oil tanned leather with natural hide character and a matching interior. The interior pocket edges are carefully shaped, finished and burnished.
Because these covers are made from full-grain leather, natural grain, markings and color variation are expected and celebrated. No two pieces of leather will age exactly alike.

Made for Everyday Use
Oil tanned leather is infused with oils during the tanning process, giving it a naturally soft and flexible feel without a lengthy break-in period.
As it's handled and carried, the leather will pick up additional marks, variations and patina. Those changes become part of the piece, giving your checkbook cover more character the longer you use it.
These aren't meant to sit on a shelf looking untouched. They're made to be carried, used and enjoyed for years.
