Hand Carved Floral Leather Roper Wallet – Spanish Brown

Traditional Western leatherwork meets a slightly more contemporary layout in this one-of-a-kind roper wallet. Rather than covering the entire exterior with tooling, the design concentrates the hand-carved artwork into one sweeping floral corner, allowing the natural character and rich color of the leather to become part of the design.

The floral and scrollwork design was individually cut with a swivel knife and hand tooled, beginning at the lower corner and flowing upward along the side of the wallet. The carving continues ever so slightly around the fold and onto the back—a small detail that gives the artwork a beautiful sense of movement when the wallet is opened.

A hand-stamped geometric border frames the remaining edges. I left both the border and carved floral work natural, creating a striking contrast against the Spanish Brown hand-dyed background. Cream machine stitching was chosen specifically to coordinate with those natural leather accents and tie the entire design together.

Inside, the wallet is finished with smooth brown pigskin lining leather, giving it a soft, refined interior without adding unnecessary bulk.

✨ Handmade Details

Every part of this wallet was made and finished by hand in my East Texas leather shop. The floral artwork was individually drawn and transferred to the leather, cut with a swivel knife, and shaped one impression at a time with traditional leather carving tools.

The Spanish Brown color was applied by hand, while the carved floral work and geometric border were intentionally left natural to create the warm two-tone contrast you see in the finished wallet. The edges were carefully finished and burnished, and cream stitching was chosen to complement the natural leather accents.

Because genuine leather has its own grain, markings and personality—and because every cut, stamp and finish is done individually—no two handmade pieces will ever be exactly alike.
