This handmade men's leather bifold features a deeply carved oak tree design filled with sweeping leaves, branches along with acorns. Every line of the design was cut and tooled by hand into genuine vegetable-tanned leather, creating the depth and dimension you can see throughout the finished wallet.
Rather than covering the carving with a single color, I used a multi-step oiling process to build the natural variation throughout the oak leaves and branches. The outer border is hand dyed medium brown, while Spanish brown accents the recessed background areas and helps bring the carved design forward.
Even the small details received attention. Between the interior pocket sections is a leather divider that I hand dyed to resemble woodgrain. Only a small portion of it is visible once the wallet is assembled, but it's one of those details that makes a truly handmade piece a little more special.
The interior is made from textured black pigskin leather and finished with brown machine stitching for a classic, durable combination.

Because this design is carved, tooled, colored and finished entirely by hand, the variations throughout the leather aren't printed or mechanically reproduced. They're part of the character created during the leatherworking process.
